“For the fans. I ask your understanding and support. Hey, we can meet in many shows across your beautiful country but please understand I can’t go to a house I’m not being invited, the vote clearly says that.”

Trump campaigned on promises of building a wall between Mexico and the United States, and on some occassions even said that the U.S. would push Mexico to fund the wall. In his speech announcing his candidacy for president, he controversially referred to Mexicans emigrating to the United States as “rapists” and “criminals” that bring drugs into the country. ‘

I absolutely LOVE this article and Humberto Ramos’ stance! He has for years been one of Marvel’s go to artists. Not one typically on my radar, but his stance here just really makes me appreciate him more, and actively want to seek out his work!

And I’m likewise disappointed in the States (I count 30) whose Electoral College votes went to Trump, and I’m so thankful my state wasn’t one of them! And I can see how it makes you not want to visit or vacation or otherwise support those states. I travel for enjoyment quite a bit, and I have to say states I had planned to vacation at in the forseeable future, I honestly will choose a different location/states to give my money to.

It’s a huge black eye to some states that desperately should know better. Tennessee, North Carolina… what the eff were you thinking?

And I would go even further and while the electoral college disregarded the majority popular vote, they can’t stop you voting with your Dollars. So upcoming article will look at companies that supported Trump, and companies to cease or limit giving your business to.

And yes, states not to reward with your tourist dollars!

Documentary of the Day : RED OBSESSION (2013) narrated by Russell Crowe + Best Wine Deals on Amazon!

RED OBSESSION – Described as “stunningly shot and entertaining”, this documentary explores the obsession for Bordeaux, the holy grail of fine wines, by a booming and voracious Chinese market.

I’m not a wine person, I’m definitely not an aficionado who is going to plunk down hundreds, thousands and even millions for a bottle of wine. I would say a $20 bottle, the occasional blue moon, is about my speed; that said I did enjoy this documentary, finding it informative and enlightening.

Worth a watch. Grade: B-. Available via Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Creepiest Post of the Day: Screaming, Furry, Nearly Indestructible Bugs?!!

Okay in some way this has got to be the GMO companies, and the government’s Black Bag projects at work. :).

What am I talking about?

Give a reading here, and when done listen to the good folks at B-MOVIE CAST here (around the 20 minute mark) discuss trying to kill, the near indestructible RED VELVET (COW KILLER) WASP/ANT!

Vince of B-MOVIE CAST mentions trying to kill one of the huge bugs by stepping on it (a natural reaction, I would think to a blood red bug, the size of a few bees on hormones crawling toward you), only to have its head and upper body walk away from the crushing with it making a bloodcurdling screaming noise.

Game over man! Game over!

Damn Secret Government gene-splicing experiments! 🙂

DVD Reviews: RED, GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, THE UNINVITED

On the DVD front I recently watched the INTERNATIONAL, THE UNINVITED, RED, and the original Swedish language THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO.

UNINVITED- This 2009 film, was the worst of the four. About a teen whose mom burnt to death in a fire, and her coming to terms with that, after being released from a mental ward. The first feature film by the Guard Brothers while it did have a nice twist at the end, by the time that came I was too annoyed with the characters, and the film to really care. Grade: D.

RED- RED would have been okay except for one thing, the idiotic lets sacrifice/kill the ethnic character (Morgan Freeman) for no reason whatsoever. It’s the most egregious example I’ve seen in a film.

It was such a moronic death, that I just couldn’t believe the stupidity, I went through the film expecting, to find out it was some trick, the character was wearing a bullet proof vest and distracting them, and playing possum, and would turn up later in the movie.

But Nope. Basically Morgan Freeman’s character just decides to commit suicide for the white characters, when it was completely unnecessary.

I mean completely unnecessary.

We’re not talking the cool Jim Brown in THE DIRTY DOZEN type death, this is utterly unnecessary. When it was probably fifteen ways they could have all gotten out alive. Nope, instead the script just shoehorns in a ‘let’s kill the ethnic character’ scene. This Director, Robert Schwentke and Writers Joe and Erich Hoeber go on my list of incompetent and pedestrian filmmakers to avoid.

They should really be ashamed of themselves, and the fact that the writers wrote the upcoming BATTLESHIP, hints heavily at that being a film worth avoiding. All in all, the unnecessary cliche/stereotype ruined an otherwise okay action flick. GRADE: D-.

THE INTERNATIONAL- nicely filmed thriller, about an Interpol agent trying to bring down an arms running bank. Well filmed and enjoyable. B+.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO- It was better than I thought it was going to be, this tale of an investigation into a 40year old disappearance/murder. Well filmed, well acted, and both disturbing and thrilling. Not something I would feel any need to watch again, but a compelling viewing experience at the time. B.
