“And one ring to bind them All!”… From 1927 Hitchcock’s THE RING

THE RING is enjoyable early hitchcock, with the exception of some pretty overt stereotyping and ethnic slurs. But that… made allowances for… is slightly offset by the our-gang type feel of the diverse main cast. And once you set aside the time to properly watch it, it’s a pretty engaging flick about a carnival, a boxer, and that oldest of all things… a love triangle, and a woman’s fickle heart. Unfortunately the audio sound track that comes with it is simply horrendous.

The final fight scene while no raging bull is absolutely hitchcockian. As mens fortune rise or fall… on the love of a woman. Overall a recommended silent flick. B-.
