So three intersecting things are hitting me at the same time.
Because of time, I’ll address one for right now:

There used to be this idyllic time when you could march against war, and go home thinking you did something. And shop as you shopped, and buy as you buy.
Times have changed, and the way you fight wars must change. Sure, march for peace outside your home, but do more. War against warmongers.
With every dollar you spend, everything you buy, every show you watch, every choice you make.
Draw a line in the sand and support those who stand with you, and the rest… let them go to hell.
I tell you for nothing… big business does not stand with you. They’re getting rich in a time of war, they’re getting rich while people are dying.
They are opportunists, they are warmongers.
War against warmongers, and opportunists and… CIRCUIT CITY.
(pretty nifty huh, do you like how I slid em in there. I’ve been taking lessons from the Republican party)
CIRCUIT CITY’s latest announcement to fire hundreds of decently paid, long time workers, and replace them with low cost alternatives.
Wars of resources abroad, wars of economics at home.
But wars, all the same.
It’s a disarming trend, where companies that make billions in profit, seek to pass as little of this money down to the workforce as possible. Hence you have outsourcing, H1 visas, Offshoring, the shattering of unions, and a constant attack to keep the minimum wage (and by extrapolation all wages)from keeping up with inflation and cost of living.
In real and tragic ways, big business, with the full support of this administration is bankrupting this country.
HP, Dell, IBM, insert company here… If they offshore thanks to Bush, THEY DON’T PAY TAXES.
They can make billions of dollars selling in America, and by offshoring their infrastructure 1/cut costs with cheaper foreign labor (and the way things are going, pretty soon we’ll be the cheap foreign labor force going to Dubai… to generate enough income to feed our families) and 2/not pay any taxes on that foreign infrastructure.
This is not good business people. This is a scorched earth philosophy where the business is a parasite to a community, not a partner. Taking everything out of the community, and giving back no jobs, no income, no benefits.
So now you have billion dollar businesses that don’t pay taxes, and on top of this they don’t want to pay workers a living wage.
Whether Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian, you cannot look at the concessions this administration has made to big business in this decade, can not look at our trillion dollar deficit, can not look at off-shore Pleasure nations, and not see it for what it is… overarching greed by men and corporations, that are intent on making as much money as possible, having as much control as possible, even if it means breaking the spine of America to do so.
We are very much going through the process that the west has inflicted on other countries, the process of increasing the divide between rich and poor. The process of creating third world nations, impoverished nations.
Slave states.
A nation of lords and serfs.
Do your part to oppose it. If a company doesn’t put real income into your community, don’t let them take real income out of your community.
Stop giving Circuit City, Best Buy, Shell, McDonald’s, Dell, place company here… your business. If at the end of the day that company isn’t putting quality jobs into your neighborhoods, not just minimum wage, poverty line, lip service… disown them.
Stop giving them your business. You can’t do this for all of them (they are too inbred), but you can start where you can start. You can pick your windmill… and swing at it. The alternative is to do nothing… and that I will not do.
Companies I have on my do not shop at (unless unavoidable) list are:
CIRCUIT CITY
DENNY’S
BEST BUY
DELL
SHELL
MC’DONALDS
KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN
There are others that are slipping my sleep deprived mind, I’m sure.
And I’ve been keeping that up for years. When possible I seek out and support sustainable/mom and pop choices.
I urge you to do the same.
Your money mandates your moments.
Your money mandates your moments. Keep giving your money to people who sanction slaughter and mutilation to make pennies more (and no that’s not hyperbole, look at Shell. If you have the stomach for it, look at this company founded by not quite defeated nazis, and if you have the stomach look at what they’ve done for 50 years to a people, and a nation… to get rich, and to stay rich. They are one of many, I realize this, but you can start with them) , keep giving your money to people who daily spit in your face… and you will continue to get spat on.
Let em go to hell.
All the boardroom backers of war. Wars domestic, and abroad. SHELL, ENRON, FOX, CIRCUIT CITY, WALMART, KFC, PHILLIP MORRIS, SONY, MCDONALDS.
For what they have done, without regret
And what they continue to do,
these….
businessmen,
these…
mobs,
One mob at a time…
Let em go to hell.
Let em go to hell.
